Belonging, Being and Becoming
The Early Years Learning Framework ensures your child receives quality education programs in early childhood settings. This is a vital time for children to learn and develop.
Our Curriculum
Generations Early Learning has adopted the curriculum framework, ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (2009)’
The Early Years Learning Framework ensures your child receives quality education programs in early childhood settings. This is a vital time for children to learn and develop.
The framework’s vision is for all children to experience play-based learning that is engaging and builds success for life.
Our educators and staff develop learning programs responsive to children’s ideas, interests, strengths and abilities in partnership with families, who are the children’s first and most influential educators. At Generations Early Learning, children learn through play-based activities, to achieve outcomes, milestones and goals.
The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of ‘belonging, being and becoming’.
Belonging:
BELONGING is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.
Belonging is;
• knowing where and with whom we belong
• feeling a part of the community whether it be at home, Generations Early Learning or the local neighbourhood
• feeling comfortable and at ease
• knowing who you are as a person
• knowing what groups you belong to and your place in society
• being made welcome in a group
Being:
BEING is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just ‘be’ – time to play, try new things and have fun.
Being is;
• the freedom to do as I want
• knowing who I am
• being part of your surroundings and environment
• feeling happy with where I am as an individual with my life
Becoming:
BECOMING is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their sense of identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.
Becoming is;
• aspiring to be something and working towards it
• adapting to changes and experiences
• learning who we are through different learning experiences
• learning how we can become a better person
